The Dixie Swim Club

The next dinner theater has arrived:

The DeWitt County Restoration Association’s first dinner theater in five years provides the perfect opportunity for a “girls’ night out” with The Dixie Swim Club, a comedy by the writers of TV’s Golden Girls. Doors open at 5, dinner is served at 6, and the production begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26, at the Clinton American Legion Hall.

This funny and touching play follows the lives of five women who first bonded as members of their college swim team and continue to gather each August for a long weekend at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. The show focuses on four get-togethers and takes the friends from their 40s into their 70s.

The Dixie Swim Club is a full-fledged plunge into the estrogen ocean, but men, too, can find common ground in this comedy about fun and lifelong friendship by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten. “The faster we swim, the sooner we win,” the group still chants.
